It's about to get lit! Last year we showed you how to throw a Star Spangled Banger, and this year, we are throwing a Party Like it's 1776. Whether you're throwing a backyard BBQ or hosting the annual family firework display, you'll find a spark from these patriotic party ideas. So get ready to light up the sky because it's the Fourth of July!
Show your pride for the stars and stripes with a bold backdrop. This red, white, and blue balloon garland is the center of attention for our setup. We included two shades of blue balloons to tie in with the light blue plates on the table and a pack of our Red, White, and Blue Balloons to add some star-spangled fun. To finish off the balloon garland, we proudly added a USA Pennant to the top.
Tip: Use pennants for cake toppers, or let your little firecrackers hold the flag as a photo prop and wave as they watch the fireworks.
An American Flag Canvas Banner proudly hangs to the left of the snack table. This banner comes on a wooden rod with patriotic ribbons on either side. Hang it on your front door for Memorial Day, or use it as a backdrop for your 4th of July photo booth—the possibilities are endless!
One of our favorite products is bamboo serving trays! We carry them in all different shapes and sizes for the holidays. This Land of the Free Tray is round with a lifted edge and has carrying handles, making it easy to transport delicious snacks, refreshing drinks, or bbq sandwiches from the kitchen to the table without anything sliding off. Or, you can do what we did here and use it as a backdrop to the snack table!
We have our Patriotic Stars Mini Garland draped across the table below. A fun DIY trick is to cut the little stars off individually and use them as cake toppers or scatter them across a table as confetti. We placed two blue stars on our patriotic cake as a fun, easy cake decoration.
If you know us, we like to make it easy for party food. So we did our usual thing, got store-bought cupcakes, and placed them in Blue and Red confetti baking cups to add a little pizazz! We bought these red velvet cupcakes at our local grocery store bakery. Most grocery stores have a bakery section that sells basic cupcakes, and you may catch festive ones during the holidays. You can always buy some festive sprinkles separately and add your own touch!
We also found these fun patriotic cookie sandwiches. From marshmallow treats to sugar cookies, Walmart has an excellent, festive variety of snacks around any holiday!
Sparkling water is a staple around our office. These Waterloo sparkling waters are a refreshing addition to your drink table. We love a company that goes all out for the Fourth of July. Grab these berry-flavored drinks at your local grocery store for a festive pop!
Another fabulous Walmart find! These simple sugar cookies are ADDICTING. Around Halloween, they have adorable pumpkin-shaped cookies in this exact style, so you can keep the trend for every holiday.
At the center of the table, we have some Red Vines in these red and white striped Popcorn Bags! You can fill these treat bags with popcorn, candy, or other sweet snacks. We thought these red licorice pieces were just the thing to put inside these bags. Blue star stickers are included in every pack so you can seal the bags and keep all the goodies inside when you hand them out as July 4th party favors.
Everyone knows bomb pops are a summer staple. So why not add a fun twist! These Plastic Rocket Pops are perfect for 4th of July party favors. They come empty, so you can put whatever treat you want inside and then insert the base, and voila! A fun summer bomb pop treat!
Every place setting has a Light Blue Dinner Plate as a base. The baby blue ties into the "in the" for the Party in the USA plates and some more subtle details in the truck plates. At this place setting, we have a Navy and Gold Cutlery set as the added accessory and a Guest Towel underneath the fork on the left side of the plates.
The alternative place setting is the same baby blue plate with a Firework Truck Plates on top. The baby blue here ties into the details at the bottom of the truck and gives it such a nice contrast. Rather than a navy blue and gold cutlery set, we have a Red and Gold Cutlery set to offset the blue next door!
We used these Uncle Sam Cups at every place setting. They come with a little paper addition that you can stick to the bottom to make it look like Uncle Sam's signature hat! We couldn't pass up the opportunity to use Patriotic Straws in these cups. These eco-friendly straws are made of durable plastic and are completely reusable.
On the table here, we have a Red Star Table Runner proudly spreading across the length of the table. At 10 feet long, this table runner can easily be trimmed to fit any table, big or small. We cut it so we could also have a runner on the dessert table!
When I was younger, my mom could never find table runners long enough for our dining room table. Now brands are finally taking the hint and making long table runners to ensure they fit everyone's home or can be used in various locations.
To finish our tablescape, we cut extra stars from the Star Banner and sprinkled them around the table as patriotic table scatter. Then displayed our rocket pops filled with popcorn in the center.
Don't forget to add some beautiful blooms to your table! We have a simple white vase on top of a white cake stand to add height to the table decor.
We absolutely love summertime and celebrating Independence Day. This setup was amazing to decorate, and it really got us in the mood to Party Like 1776!
We hope this has inspired you to celebrate the Home of the Brave with family and friends this Fourth of July.
