4th of July Party Ideas to Throw A Star-Spangled Banger

The countdown to the Fourth of July is on, and we're ready to throw a freedom fest! So grab some BBQ, make liber-tea, and cozy up to find party tips and tricks on How to Throw a Star-Spangled Banger.

Red White and Blue Balloon Garland

Red, White, and Balloons

Balloon garlands look great, accentuating walls and food tables. We created a patriotic red, white and blue balloon garland accessorized with some adorable star balloons to outline our treat table. We also attached our Patriotic Mini Star Garland and Patriotic Stars and Stripes Banner Sets. Stringing banners and garlands across a balloon display is an easy and fun way to add dimension and depth to a backdrop.

Food, Fun, and Freedom

It's simply un-American to throw a party to celebrate freedom without some food, so we have a whole table dedicated to that tradition. So we pulled together all sorts of red, white, and blue desserts to make a sweet treats table.

In the middle are some DIY patriotic rice crispy treats. For these, we bought pre-made rice crispy treats and dipped them in melted white chocolate, finishing them off with some red, white, and blue sprinkles.

Fourth of July Cupcakes

Another fun party food trick is to buy pre-made cupcakes from your grocery store bakery and customize them with colored sprinkles and wrappers to match the theme of your party. For example, we placed our cupcakes in Red and White Confetti Baking Cups and Blue and White Confetti Baking Cups to elevate the store-bought cupcakes!

Fourth of July Star Shaped Sparkler

Our beautiful patriotic cake on display is from a local bakery here in Tulsa—isn't it just gorgeous? We only made a couple of additions to the cake, like scattering some of the same sprinkles that we used on the cupcakes and rice crispy treats to add some color and cohesion. Finally, we topped the cake with this Fourth of July Star Sparkler for the final touch. These sparklers have been our top seller lately. The sparkler candles come in stars, hearts, and even numbers so you can celebrate a birthday, New Year, anniversary, and more.

Fourth of July Custom Cookies

We love getting customized sugar cookies to match our party theme because they add a fun personal touch. We use a local Tulsa baker, Objection Confections, to make the most beautiful cookies. She is so talented and always does a great job!

Land of Liberty Tray

Finally, sitting at the back of the treat table is our Sweet Land of Liberty Bamboo Tray as a decoration and reminder of what we're celebrating. Use party trays to serve food and drinks to guests all at once.

Fourth of July Table Setting

Style a Patriotic Table Setting

Does this table not just scream "freedom" to you? We love all the different elements of the traditional patriotic colors and American stars and stripes.

To start our patriotic table decoration, we aligned the middle of the table with our Patriotic Stars Table Runner to add beautiful red, white, and blue stars to our base. This table runner is so long we cut it to fit two tables. You can use paper table runners in many different ways, such as a long charcuterie base or wrapping paper. Get creative with it!

Fourth of July Place Setting

For each place setting, we used our Stars and Stripes Star Plates come with a mix of blue and white stars and red and white stripes, giving homage to the Flag. In addition, we included a Gold Wavy Dinner Plate underneath the star plates to tie in the gold accents around the table. Resting on each dish is a Firework Napkin and a Patriotic Land of the Free Party Cracker as a decoration, party favor, and foreshadowing of the night's firework festivities.

Fourth of July Place Setting with Party Popper

Beside each plate, we placed a beautiful American Flag Guest Towel. In addition, we provided assorted Blue and Gold and Red and Gold cutlery so the guests could enjoy their 4th of July meal. The best party, these cutlery sets are reusable so that you can use them at your birthday or holiday event!

Fourth of July Cupcake

We gave guests a red and white swirly cupcake inside a Blue and White Striped Baking Cup to keep congestion down at the dessert table. We also got these cupcakes at our local grocery store and dressed them with this everyday baking cup.

Fourth of July Plastic Cup

With all the festivities, guests can fill up a Patriotic Red Stripes Plastic Cup with some liber-tea to quench their thirst. We put a Stars and Stripes Reusable Straw in each cup for a fun addition and to prevent spills. These cups and straws are both plastic and reusable. So you can keep them around for future lake days or for the entire 4th of July weekend!
