Winter Wonderland Party Ideas
If you have a birthday during the winter colder months, why not throw a Winter Wonderland theme party. And if it's a first birthday party, you can call it a Winter Onederland. This would also be a great time to have a Frozen inspired party.
Here are the primary party decorations you will need.
- Faux snow scatter
- Iridescent confetti
- Plastic or paper snowflakes
- Snowballs/icicle ornaments
- Tissue fans/snowflakes
- Snowflake-themed partyware
The inspiration behind this party set up was these gorgeous iridescent snowflake plates and napkins. They also match perfectly with our other iridescent partyware.
I love using faux snow to scatter on the table but adding the iridescent confetti makes it sparkle like the snow on a sunny day.
I wanted to bring out the pink in the iridescent party goods, so I added a pink table runner, pink cake stands, pink treat cups, and pink favor boxes. I also added some pink tissue fans to the backdrop. You could easily add a light blue or a light purple, and it would be just as pretty.
The backdrop was simple to create with the iridescent paper fan set mixed with white and pink tissue paper fans. I then added some icicle and snowball ornaments I found at Hobby Lobby. I was going to use some white plastic snowflake ornaments, but since I had some iridescent glitter cardstock on hand, I decided to use my Cricut machine and cut some custom snowflakes to add to the tissue fans.
White cotton candy is perfect for a fluffy snow party favor. I used a snowflake punch and attached to the pink favor box. Wrap in cellophane and finish off with a pink bow. The cute snowflake tattoos are a fun addition to the party favor.
I found these white chocolate covered pretzels shaped like snowflakes at a local Walmart Neighborhood Market. They are perfect for a winter wonderland party. I also added some powdered donuts (snowballs) sprinkled with coconut flakes (snow) and some mini marshmallows (mini snowballs) to complete this wintry table setting. Simple and inexpensive treats that your little guests will love.
Here are some other ideas for sweet treats to serve.
- Powered donut holes (snowballs)
- White chocolate dipped pretzel sticks (icicles)
- Marshmallow pops (snowmen)
- White rock candy sticks (icicles)
- Snowflake iced cookies
You could always include a fun hot chocolate bar to complete the winter wonderland party theme. For the adults, you can add some Baileys Irish Creme or other flavored liqueur for a festive holiday spirit.
