Valentine's Day is a great time to host a party for your kiddos, your besties or your favorite Valentine. Start with a pretty table decorated with Valentine theme place settings, flowers, candy, and lots of love.
Set the table with some fun Valentine paper plates, coordinate with cups and napkins, and finish off with some reusable/disposable flatware. I found the white square lace doilies in the paper section at Michaels. It worked perfectly as a placemat to highlight the Valentine table setting.
You don't always have to match the exact pattern in paper goods. I used metallic silver and white cups, napkins, and favor boxes to coordinate with the silver in the sequin tablecloth and the paper fans and banners in the backdrop.
What's a Valentine's Day Party without flowers? I picked up these pink carnations, red carnations, and babies breath from the local grocery floral department. I am no florist, but I believe anyone can buy fresh flowers, cut to size, and put in water. Your guests will love the organic look of fresh flowers!
Balloons have become so popular in party decor and especially script word balloons. I attached this Love script balloon to the heart balloon using glue dots. You can fill with helium or just air fill and use anywhere in the room or as a photo prop.
Paper fans are great for a quick and colorful backdrop for highlighting the cake table, dining table or photo wall. You can attach the fans with the sticker or use a paper clip so that you can reuse.
I used glue dots to attach the fans temporarily to the wall. Be careful when sticking fans to painted drywall. You can also use the attached string to hang the fans.
I added this lovely Valentine banner set featuring hearts, arrows, and XOs to the paper fans backdrop. Just hang with tape or push pins.
I am all about finding pre-made and inexpensive party foods when possible. You can use cute containers, sprinkles, and toppers to enhance and match the party theme.

The Oreo cake with dripped chocolate was so cute as purchased. But once I added the Valentine Candyfetti by Sweets Indeed, the cake went from pretty to fabulous.
The vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with white icing were plain until I plopped in these red and pink baking cups and finished off with Valentine sprinkles and heart cupcake toppers.
I also fancied up the macarons by sprinkling them with some of the Valentine confetti to help tie in the pink and red throughout the sweets table.
One cute and simple Valentine party favor idea is packaged ingredients to make your own Valentine S'mores—graham crackers, heart-shaped Hershey's chocolates, and heart-shaped vanilla Peeps. I added the ingredients and paper shred to these favor boxes, then wrapped in cellophane and tied off with pink twine. I also added a strip of washi tape to bring out the XO pattern.
These chocolate suckers were in the candy department at the grocery store. They had big red bows and looked store bought. So, I removed the bows and added pretty pink ribbons with red hearts. So much cuter!
The chocolate suckers are cute for party favors, or you can add a name tag and use as a place card as part of the table setting.
